FCEV (Fuel cell electric vehicle), fuel cell electric vehicles, an increasingly important place among the alternatives of fossil fuel vehicles. In the system, hydrogen and oxygen are entering the electrochemical reaction. That is, the electricity that will provide power to the vehicle as a result of the combination of hydrogen in the high pressure tank and oxygen in the air; As a by-product, water, steam and heat are released.
The engine, which does not emit any harmful gases such as carbon dioxide, is therefore known as ğı zero emission lar, or environmentally friendly. In addition, thanks to this system, the car can go 5 times further than other electric vehicles and it takes only minutes to fill the fuel tank. However, in order to spread this system with high investment and production costs, automotive giants must take steps in R & D and production.
At the end of January 2013, Daimler, Ford and Nissan representatives announced that they would collaborate on the fuel cell system in order to increase the cost of hydrogen-fueled cars by reducing their costs. Thanks to the project, the car will be available for the first time in 2017. Daimler, Ford and Nissan, with a total of 60 years of experience in the field of fuel cell electric vehicles, will have a significant advantage in the project. Although the technical specifications and part standards of the vehicles in different regions vary, this project will produce a compatible car as much as possible.
At the end of 2012, BMW ended the negotiations with GM in the fuel cell field and announced that it would make a license agreement with Toyota at the beginning of 2013. According to the contract, Toyota will share the license of fuel cell vehicle technology with BMW. BMW plans to complete its first prototype in 2015 using this technology. In 2020, after the prototype, the first model is expected to be sold.
Meanwhile, Toyota recently introduced the FCV-R Concept vehicle at the 2011 Tokyo Motor Show as a fuel-cell electric car. In other words, it is possible to say that the concept of the technology that BMW will use is laid with this concept.
